Who’s excited about the movie Nine? I AM! How am I not going be? It’s based on Fellini’s masterpiece 8 1/2, with an AMAZING cast of stars which include Fergie, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman and Daniel Day Lewis! Did I mention it’s a musical too?! I DIE! I have been waiting for months to see this movie and on Dec. 18th my dreams will finally come true.
My fave celeb babins’ Suri Cruise was spotted shopping with her personal assistant in Boston earlier this week. I never thought that this 3 year old can walk so elegantly in her tiny heels. I’m 25 and I wish I could walk in heels like her! Suri is growing up so fast, it was just yesterday she was on the cover of Vanity Fair with Mama Katie and Papa Tom.
Hi! I hope everybody’s week is wrapping up nicely. I have a few new goodies to show you that we got in recently. My favorite is the Windsor bird necklace. It reminds me of something you would find in your favorite antique store, and I totally love antiques. I think it would go quite nicely with the gold brocade tulle corset dress, very regal. Wow, we are cranking on getting the site and store all ready for the Holidays… Yesterday Chris literally got up at 2am & worked straight until 7pm. Hardcore. This morning he got up at 5. I saw Wes Anderson’s The Fantastic Mr. Fox this weekend. In one word, it was… Amazing! (Thought I was going to say Fantastic?) In all seriousness, I highly recommend this movie to everyone, except Chaunté in our photo department… because she’s scared of animated movies.
Lately, I’ve had nothing but the holiday season on my mind. Last week I thought to myself, I really need to live in the now and enjoy fall before it’s too late. My NY bestie, Jen and I decided to take a babe’s trip upstate to Beacon and visit the museum Dia Art Foundation. It is this amazing contemporary museum with beautiful minimalist installations that filled up the rooms in way I can’t describe. Jen and I felt like we were at Disneyland taking pictures everywhere, until we got in trouble by an usher.
After the museum we headed to the downtown area that had cute little shops and diners. We had a huge lunch, then headed back for an afternoon of sweets at the most adorable coffee shop. On the train back, it was amazing to see the transition from country to city.
We didn’t want the fun to end so the next day we headed to Prospect Park. We rode bikes, had mini photoshoots, played in leaves, ate pizza, chatted about life, and watched the ducks in the pond.
This weekend was truly one of the best weekends I’ve had this year so far thanks to beautiful weather, spending time with my babe, and seeing some amazing art. There was never a dull moment, now I feel refreshed, and the holiday season seems like small potatoes.

This weekend was sunny and nice outside, so weird for November. But, I didn’t leave the house without a scarf just in case it got cold. At 30,000 feet while my flight takes me back to reality, I ponder the wonderful time I had for my 40th bday in the desert paradise: PALM SPRINGS, CA!
After the ahmahzing party that Keith threw for me last week with all my East Coast peeps in New York at the Lexington Candy Shop, I couldn’t believe it could get any better. Enter Palm Springs… Keith had gone there for Spring Break this year and knew that he wanted to take me there for my big 4-0! I’m so glad he did because it was magical! We stayed at the ACE Hotel, it was young and fun and had a very “Camp Fred” vibe. To continue our hotel obsession, we popped over to Kelly Wearstler’s very regent The Viceroy with its citrus stripes and clipped topiary and then to Jonathan Adler’s whacked out Parker Palm Springs. I loved them all! We had a taco party on Friday and our BFF Lulu totes showed up to surprise me!!! SPEECHLESS. How she & Keith kept a secret like that, I’ll never know. Our L.A. besties, Darin, Delza and Susan also trekked out to celebrate with us!
On Sat, my actual bday, we biked around the town in our vintage bikes oogling at all the Mid-Century modern masterpiece homes that make Palm Springs so famous. Um hello… Richard Neutra anyone? Google him, you’ll die! Then we took the tram up Mt. Jacinto to a embark in my ultimate Narnia fantasy. At 8,000 feet we quickly morphed from a blazing desert to a serene alpine terrain with ancient trees, rocky outcrops & views that’ll blow your mind!
Next on the agenda was my bday dinner at Mr. Parker’s, the psychedelic restaurant tucked behind a black velvet curtain in the lobby of the Parker Palm Springs. Um, Jonny… There’s nothin’ greater decorator! Mr. Parker’s is this rock n’ roll opera of a place that was so dark you had to read the menu with a flashlight and I LOVED it to pieces! After dinner, we sauntered to the fire pit where Keith & Lulu presented me with yet another dazzling surprise… A key to Room #1 of The Parker. Sizzle Zap! I don’t even have the words to describe how special and unforgettable this milestone was for me… And I owe it all to Keith and my wonderful friends. I love you all… Here’s to 40 more years of crazy cute! xoxo, CeeJ!
