BFF... BLOG FRED FLARE DAILY DISPATCHES FROM YOUR FRED FRIENDS

I pulled out this old pic of my dad and me for Father's Day, and in between the warm fuzzies I realized thatI still don't know what I'm wearing for the 4th of July. And it's in a mere two weeks!

Now, I'm the type of person that typically spends all year planning what I'm going to wear on Independence Day, and by the time the day itself rolls around I have several different options for varying weather (blisteringly hot? overcast? rainy & cold?) and activities (BBQ, parade, fireworks)...

This year I, obviously, have our Springsteen Leggings and American Flag Denim Shorts on tap, but I've also put together a look that's super patriotic, but also slightly more subtle. The best part? It transitions easily through every part of the Fourth's festivities.

The Marnie Striped Tank Dress is a great starting piece. You've got 2/3 colors taken care of right there! It's also super affordable, and looks great from a beach coverup to a backyard garden dinner party. Toss on a solid cardi if things get a little chilly.

How could I not include the Heart Shaped Sunglasses? These add a fun dash of red to your look and protect your eyes during the bright summer day. Push them up on your head when it's fireworks time to complete the look.

The Smooth Sailing Printed Scarf is super lightweight and, again, on point with the color scheme. Boats are a big part of some folks' celebrations, so it has that going for it as well.

Finish off the look with bright red shoes and some fierce red lipstick (after you've finished wolfing down BBQ duh) and you're good to to! Best day ever!

How do we celebrate our brand new site launch?! We got a delicious cake from the famous Magnolia Bakery. In the fashion of Marie Antoinette, we totes did eat it too!

These days Miley Cyrus has been pretty intent on proving to the world that she's grown up, and the We Can't Stop video is right in line with Miles' new edgy image. I LOVE IT.

I've already had the track on literal loop since it dropped, and I've already watched the video like 4 times. Beanies w/ veils = EVERYTHING.

Sure, sometimes I miss the Hannah Montana days of yore, but that's why there is Netflix (and the life size cut out in my brother's closet). You do you, Miley!

One of my fave celeb dog owners is def Miley Cyrus. She currently has 6 pups - Floyd (pictured above), Ziggy, Happy, Mary Jane, Bean (pictured below) and Penny Lane. No suprise, they are all totes adorable! Someone *wink wink* (Miley), def needs the Smart Dog Leash!

Keith and Diane made the FF staff Mo's Bacon Choco Chip Pancakes for breakfast today!

Everyone gathered in the warehouse for a nutritious and delicious breakfast. Best way to start the day ever!

Kanye's new album, Yeezus, isn't the only thing that leaked early, so did his child. (Yup, I went there.) Kim K gave birth to their baby girl 5 weeks early on Saturday morning!

No other info has been released yet, but I am soooo excited to see what the couple has named their daughter! Like, is it cray cray or totally normal? Knowing Yeezy, it might be something reaaaaal interesting. What do you think it is?! I asked around the office to see what everyone's predictions were:

Can we talk about backpacks for a sec? When I was in elementary school, my favorite part every fall was picking out a brand new backpack, and then comparing with all my friends. Remember that?

I'm totally feeling that love again with the Insight Ten Four Backpack. It's super lightweight and perfect for summer! I've got mine stocked with a good book (currently reading Kennedy by Ted Sorensen), a bottle of water (hydration is key!), my camera, and my BFF Herberta. All I need for summer in the city!

Oh, I almost forgot. My backpack has one more thing: a well-worn, well-loved Rubik's Cube.
