There’s defs a spot in my heart for Project Runway’s Dickensian street waifs like Carol Hannah. Her sweet-as-sugar feminine collection of wearable easy pieces, was full of Homespun Elegance. She put an Oliver Twist on Grecian minis, grown-up tutus, straight-legged pants and glam voluminous blouses with long fabric necklaces. Her best pieces were her design strength: Coquettish Cocktail Dresses! I especially loved that sweet little gold one (that Fred Flare just started carrying.) LOVED the frosty blue ice cream cone shaped confectionery frock. And the hawks eye one with fluttering pleats was UN-real! Even while suffering from a Victorian-era disease Carol Hannah knocked the judges out with an awe-mazing teal Grecian thirteenth look. (Doesn’t matter why) Carol Hannah is out. At least Logan was there to comfort her…and us…and provide Althea with a flannel shirt and knit hat (just kiddin‘.)

GREEK (abc Family) goddess Althea’s unexpectedly sporty couture collection was full of judge-impressing muted neutral staples for the modern girl. The athletic headbands added to the Vancouver 2010 aesthetic. After a day at the office in ladylike silk parachute pants with great little jacket her girl was ready to hit the slopes! The headbands also went to the 80’s with high-waisted, pleated tapered pants and mini skirt both with beat up “Flashdance” tops. Then to the late 70’s with a shiny (need I add this was Heidi’s favorite look?) disco tube top and dance-ready skirt. Now for more Top Modz in action! After winning Cycle 8 of America’s Next Top Model (boo do boo do boo do) Jaslene went on to walk the runway for Althea!

Irina had it in the bag with her hard edged, masculine funeral procession. Full of severe black leather, snuggy-sized knitmares, vacuum-seeled, ruched leg skinny jeans, leather leg warmers and…helmets. Some were Maleficant (“Sleeping Beauty”) some were Mordecai (“The Royal Tenenbaums”.) I guess using one color and putting a funny hat on everybody tells a story and makes a collection cohesive. At least that’s what they say at Barnum and Bailey Clown College. Is anybody else distracted by the way Irina dresses herself (in previous eps)?  Specifically the white or grey baby t’s under small print floral dresses. It’s like she just discovered that new television program “Friends”.  Irina is Das Winner. Doesn’t matter why. It’s the only logical end for the worst season of Project Runway ever.

Who’s excited about the movie Nine? I AM! How am I not going be? It’s based on Fellini’s masterpiece 8 1/2, with an AMAZING cast of stars which include Fergie, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman and Daniel Day Lewis! Did I mention it’s a musical too?! I DIE! I have been waiting for months to see this movie and on Dec. 18th my dreams will finally come true.

My fave celeb babins’ Suri Cruise was spotted shopping with her personal assistant in Boston earlier this week. I never thought that this 3 year old can walk so elegantly in her tiny heels. I’m 25 and I wish I could walk in heels like her! Suri is growing up so fast, it was just yesterday she was on the cover of Vanity Fair with Mama Katie and Papa Tom.

Hi! I hope everybody’s week is wrapping up nicely. I have a few new goodies to show you that we got in recently. My favorite is the Windsor bird necklace. It reminds me of something you would find in your favorite antique store, and I totally love antiques. I think it would go quite nicely with the gold brocade tulle corset dress, very regal. Lastly, the scrunch sleeve boy blazer is great for when you are just hanging out (but not when climbing trees). CLICK THE PIC TO PURCH THE MERCH!

So who’s it gonna be? The dyslexic girl from deep Kentucky or the super shy dorky red head with major social issues? It’s down to Laura and Nicole and these two cuties are kinda besties but they are really working their little butts of to beat each other.

This is the ep we all love… We get to see them do the Cover Girl commercial and that beautiful Cover Girl shoot. We also get to see the best runway shoes. Teyona surprises them by showing up to show some support during their commercial shoot. AND noted hottie Nigel Barker is shooting their print ad. LOVES HIM. The girls look sophisticated and glamourous and a little bit lesbian in these commercials, and I think it’s amazing.

Laura somehow pulled it off by not letting her learning issues get in the way and I must say, I was totally proud! Nicole on the other hand, had a little bit of a problem getting the sweet sound across. Good thing Nicole totally brought it to the shoot! She looked spectak! She did sound snotty, but she’s a hottie.

THEN, they got to shoot for Seventeen… Was Ann Shoket totally wired or what!? I would be too if I got to hang with TY-TY in Hawaii. Anyhoo, Gille Bensimon was shooting the girls for the spread and they totally worked it! After the shoot, Tyra shows up at the mini model home for a one on one love fest. Yes, there was Tyra-induced-screaming and yes, there were tears… I love those “real” moments on ANTM.

Tome for that runway betches! And guess who came to join in all the fun!? Yes! Sundai, Erin, Brittany and Jennifer! YAY! They were all walking together for Julia Clancy WITH Eddie Murphy’s daughter!!! SRSLY? The runway show was glittertastic! Nicole’s shoulders took over that runway and Laura’s powerful, full steam ahead walk KILLED IT! Laura’s wind walk blew my mind!

But, in the end… The judges chose the fiery red headed dork! Laura wept, and I know she’s gonna have a bazillion jobs in the future! DEFINITELY! Nicole won top mods as a mini and a total NERD! And you know how much we love nerds! Congrats Nicole! You totes deserve it! Dorks rule.

I saw Wes Anderson’s The Fantastic Mr. Fox this weekend. In one word, it was… Amazing! (Thought I was going to say Fantastic?) In all seriousness, I highly recommend this movie to everyone, except Chaunté in our photo department… because she’s scared of animated movies.

Lately, I’ve had nothing but the holiday season on my mind. Last week I thought to myself, I really need to live in the now and enjoy fall before it’s too late. My NY bestie, Jen and I decided to take a babe’s trip upstate to Beacon and visit the museum Dia Art Foundation. It is this amazing contemporary museum with beautiful minimalist installations that filled up the rooms in way I can’t describe. Jen and I felt like we were at Disneyland taking pictures everywhere, until we got in trouble by an usher.

After the museum we headed to the downtown area that had cute little shops and diners. We had a huge lunch, then headed back for an afternoon of sweets at the most adorable coffee shop. On the train back, it was amazing to see the transition from country to city.

We didn’t want the fun to end so the next day we headed to Prospect Park. We rode bikes, had mini photoshoots, played in leaves, ate pizza, chatted about life, and watched the ducks in the pond.

This weekend was truly one of the best weekends I’ve had this year so far thanks to beautiful weather, spending time with my babe, and seeing some amazing art. There was never a dull moment, now I feel refreshed, and the holiday season seems like small potatoes.

How come all these people know the rules to a threesome!? I’m a little worried about that. Nate tries to shake Dan out of a hardcore 3way flashback by really driving the “the 3rd should be a stranger” point, home. Nate is such a buzzkill, right? The awkwardness between Dan and Vanessa is really made apparent when she happens to walk up in the middle of Dan and Nate’s convo… Dan is totes in denial. He even chats with Olivia, who, btw is offered a spot on BITCHES OF EASTWICK! Hahaha! Amazing. She says its like “The Heathers” but the girls are witches.

On to the other Humphrey… Jenny is bored! She’s the Queen, but so totally in social limbo. Jenny’s just chilling reading NYLON, when Chuck brings over some Danish dude, who also happens to be a toy boat playin’, Ecstasy dealin’, douche bag. Hulloy, does he even know that Jenny is like 16? Chuck gets in the middle of it before Jenny goes down that rabbit hole, or at least he thinks he does! OY.

Blair has somehow suckered Olivia into suckering Dan into doing a play. Anything to get Vanessa out of Dan’s life, but seriously Morissy sounds like more fun than Snow White gone GAGA. Dan deals with the decision made and in the mean time, brings Vanessa into the fold. This sounds like a love triangle MESS! It all unfolds in the rehearsal and I am completely confused abotu 2 things. 1) How the HELL did Blair guess the threesome thing? 2) Why the HELL didn’t Blair put up a big giant fight about not being Snow White!? Anyhoo, after completely blackmailing both Vanessa and Olivia, Blair (for her own selfish reasons) gets the girls to stay in the play. Of course, Olivia backs out to prove to Dan that he really does love Vanessa… Just a kiss and the deal is sealed. He’s realizing his feelings. Olivia is out and Vanessa is on to the next boy… Uh oh. From hero to zero, Dan’s girlless again.

Serena confides in Nate about her feelings with Trip. Nate totes trys to be the good guy by distracting her with ice cream and shots… hey, whatever works, right!? After a few rounds, Nate admits his feelings and what he TRIED to tell her at the ball a few years ago. But just as the fires were about to start burning again, a distraught Trip, finds his way to Serena and asks her to go on a walk. Nate gets the shaft again.

So what the hell will happen next week? I guess you have to tune in, but until then… xoxo Gossip Girl

This weekend was sunny and nice outside, so weird for November. But, I didn’t leave the house without a scarf just in case it got cold. These awesome scarves by Lazy Oaf have the funniest/coolest prints I’ve seen in a while. The me-WOW scarf is hilarious, it looks like a cat laying around your neck. I must say, I am SO impressed with the pictures our fans posted on Facebook for the Show Your Flare contest. There were a ton of amazing, creative entries! It’s great to see our products finding happy homes. It was so hard picking just three winners of the $25 gift certificates, so I picked five runners up too, who will be receiving $10 gift certificates. After the ahmahzing party that Keith threw for me last week with all my East Coast peeps in New York at the Lexington Candy Shop, I couldn’t believe it could get any better. Enter Palm Springs… Keith had gone there for Spring Break this year and knew that he wanted to take me there for my big 4-0! I’m so glad he did because it was magical! We stayed at the ACE Hotel, it was young and fun and had a very “Camp Fred” vibe. To continue our hotel obsession, we popped over to Kelly Wearstler’s very regent The Viceroy with its citrus stripes and clipped topiary and then to Jonathan Adler’s whacked out Parker Palm Springs. I loved them all! We had a taco party on Friday and our BFF Lulu totes showed up to surprise me!!! SPEECHLESS. How she & Keith kept a secret like that, I’ll never know. Our L.A. besties, Darin, Delza and Susan also trekked out to celebrate with us!

On Sat, my actual bday, we biked around the town in our vintage bikes oogling at all the Mid-Century modern masterpiece homes that make Palm Springs so famous. Um hello… Richard Neutra anyone? Google him, you’ll die! Then we took the tram up Mt. Jacinto to a embark in my ultimate Narnia fantasy. At 8,000 feet we quickly morphed from a blazing desert to a serene alpine terrain with ancient trees, rocky outcrops & views that’ll blow your mind!

Next on the agenda was my bday dinner at Mr. Parker’s, the psychedelic restaurant tucked behind a black velvet curtain in the lobby of the Parker Palm Springs. Um, Jonny… There’s nothin’ greater decorator! Mr. Parker’s is this rock n’ roll opera of a place that was so dark you had to read the menu with a flashlight and I LOVED it to pieces! After dinner, we sauntered to the fire pit where Keith & Lulu presented me with yet another dazzling surprise… A key to Room #1 of The Parker. Sizzle Zap! I don’t even have the words to describe how special and unforgettable this milestone was for me… And I owe it all to Keith and my wonderful friends. I love you all… Here’s to 40 more years of crazy cute! xoxo, CeeJ!
