I so loved Stephanie‘s comment that 2006 was so very…… FERGALICIOUS. I concur! Apparently, so do a lot of other YouTube cuties. Hit it, Fergie!!
Our selection of 7 New Yorkers to watch in 2007 continues with ooh-la-la style arbiter STEPHANIE DELEAU. Her charming boutique Noisette is a mere five blocks from our warehouse but each time we visit there we feel like we’re back in Paris. Stephanie features French fashion labels exclusively and her shop is a great spot to discover clothes and accessories with that certain je ne sais quoi. Be sure to pop over and say, “Bonjour!” at 54 North 6th Street or check out noisettenyc.com! Lastly, if you’d like details on the heart necklace Stephanie is wearing, please click here. Merci!
How will 2006 be remembered fashion-wise? What’s next?
Skinny jeans, black and layers before you can see the color of the skin… In 2007 look for things to be soft, natural and pure with organic tones and colors… Britney was about 6 months ahead of the curve!!!

We’ve always enjoyed those “ones-to-watch” features in magazines so this year we decided to do our own, right on!!! Today I’m thrilled to announce a new series here on BFF called 7 IN 2007, seven New Yorkers to watch in the coming year. More AWESOME interviews coming soon so defs stay tuned!!
We’re kicking off the fun with MARILYN PATRIZIO. Cute-a-holics beware! This megatalent can transform nearly any object into one of tear-jerking adorableness! She’s an incredible illustrator and graphic designer – we sell her lovely pear notepad here on the site – but she’s also an accomplished painter and creator of the cutest crocheted characters you’ve ever seen. To learn more check out mpatrizio.com! Lastly, if you’d like details on the bag Marilyn is modeling, please click here. We heart Marilyn!
2006 was big for DIY & CRAFT. What do you consider a highlight?
2006 has had so many highlights it is hard for me to determine which is the brightest. Generally, the greatest thing for me was the massive turnouts and positive response from the customers at the major craft shows. I was a vendor at Bazaar Bizarre Boston and I was blown away when a record 4,000+ craft hungry people showed up!
For the holidays a couple of my favorite gifties were cards that my bro and Rob made me. Rob made me the most adorable broccoli card. At first, it looks like a tree but then when you open it there are two fun broccoli friends!! Haha! continue reading CARDS CARDS CARDS!
I am currently planning a mutant marathon party! I think it’s really just gonna be my roommate and I watching all three X-Men movies but the even funner part is that I am making mutant treats too. I don’t really know what that means but I figure that I’ll just put blue and green food color in everything. One recipe I will be preparing and I also recommend to you for these chill winter months is glug. You’re like “Wtf is glug?” Well here is the recipe.
8 ounces water
1 cup raisins
3 cinnamon sticks
5 whole cloves
12 cardamom seeds
2 dry orange peels
Boil ingredients for 10 minutes in saucepan, then add:
1 gallon port wine
One 750-ml. bottle brandy
16 ounces rum
1/2 cup sugar
Bring to boil and let simmer 1 minute, then turn off burner and ignite. Allow the mix to burn for about 15 seconds. Serve hot.
And to top it off, I also suggest you all go see the documentary NERDCORE FOR LIFE. It’s pretty much a forthcoming documentary on nerdcore rappers — rappers who rhyme about computers, comic books, video games, D&D, and so forth. You should not miss it!
This is our final ecard of the year. Isn’t it weird when you start thinking about all that this-is-the-last-time-I’ll-ever-do-this-this-year kind of stuff? Makes everything rather momentous. Speaking of end of the year fun, we just posted our Top 50 of 2006. Check it out! And don’t forget to take advantage of FREE SHIPPING through the weekend. (See details above.) We’re cutting out early today cuz a bunch of us are going to Barcade for Friday night beers cuz, well, it’s the last time we’ll get to this year. Cheers!

We’ve been Flickr buddies with Lala-a-Gogo for a while but I just visited her redesigned site and WOW, I am totes freaking out. It’s like an amusement park filled with all my fave things: vintage treasures, Blythe dolls, retro-tastic craft projects, yum desserts and cuteness galore. All this plus amazing graphics, incredible illustrations, well-written articles and so much more. I LUVLUV LALA and plan to spend many more hours here in the future. Man, the internets is so cool. Actually, on Xmas Eve I was at a party with CJ, Sam and Vanessa and this one woman was like, “I looooove the internet.” Vanessa exclaimed, “WE DO, TOO! We live there.” Ha ha ha!
I love what just happened. Lauren invited us to her family’s holiday party at Woolworth Kitchen and we had such a niiiiiiice time. Defs the highlight was seeing Lauren, SJ and our new bestie Yolanda sing En Vogue’s “Free Your Mind”. Nicely done, ladies!!! Thanks and Happy New Year to all the Adolfsens (Lou and Joyce and Lauren and Eric!) We love you guys!
Okay, we had a scare earlier this year that the Spice Girls were reuniting but now we’ve actually heard it directly from Baby’s mouth! Baby Spice herself, Emma Bunton told the Sunday Mirror recently that the Spicies would love to get back together to perform in a tribute concert honoring the 10 yr anniversary of Princess Diana’s death in July 2007! This is a dream come true, peeps! Light a candle, cross your fingers, eyes and toes ’cause if this happens the world will be a spicier place! I just hope Ging brings Bluebell Madonna along!!! A boy can dream!!!
