CHANGES posted by fred flare comments (8)

I don’t have much to say today because I’ve been sick, basically
sleeping in bed all week. While laid out during this time, I did a bit
of thinking about my art and life in general, and came to the
conclusion that I wanted to do some artwork based off the notion of
“changes.” So here are a couple of pieces I’ve been working on that
relate to that, and a sketchbook page of some other hybrid contest
entries. While you’re at it, check out this video (and the others) by
musician/animator chad van gaalen, which definitely inspired me during
this sick stretch. Hope you enjoy!

HOT SHOT DEBUT: ADLER LOVER posted by fred flare comments (2)

Hello there. How’s it going? Is everybody ready for Halloween??? I’m frantic, my costume is proving harder to put together than I thought. I need a fancy white dress that isn’t going to make me look like a bride. Is that possible? I love white, I would make nearly everything in my house white if I could. In which case, the Jonathan Adler ornament set and salt & pepper cats are perfect for me (and you too of course). I used to work in a ceramic shop so you can take my word for it, these pieces are amazing. I’m also really into the CD packaging kit: Vintage Vinyl. I make mix cd’s for my sisters every year for Christmas. I make the cases out of pages of old books. They never quite look as nice as I would like. The packaging kit is just the thing for taking mix cd’s to the next level. So, before you blink and the goodies are gone, CLICK THE PIX TO PURCH THE MERCH!

TEEVZ: UGLY BETTY – “Ugly Berry” posted by fred flare comments (5)

**WE SET HER UP, YOU KNOCK HER DOWN ALERTZ** In this ep of Ugly Betty, Tico is life! Kimmie gets chummy with Daniel as she lands hot launch events. She gets on her high horse and trots all around Betty – “In just two weeks, I’ve done more than you have in two years.” Mama Meade reigns in Daniel and Wilhelmina and suggests that they have to hire a CFO. And Betty warms up to her Cutie McNeighbor Jesse when he writes her a little “Go for it Betty, I know that you’re ready” ditty.

So, without further adieu… I present to you Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Lovers Perfumes… 5 completely adorbz fragrances (Love, ‘Lil Angel, Music, Baby & Gwen) that you WON’T be able to resist in what’s prolly the most cute-acious packaging I’ve ever seen! Hello, November Boombox posted by fred flare comments (9)

mobox1

Robyn has informed me from her desk, three feet away, that some of you wonderful people have been e-mailing her, regarding some new tunes to shop to. Well, perfect timing because it’s my turn to update my boombox, just in time for my favorite month of the year, November. What’s not to love? We got election day, Thanksgiving, and my birthday!  It’s perfect. So to celebrate I have compiled a healthy mix of old and new. Some are dancy, some are bangers, some are thinkers, but most are just good old fashioned love songs. I would love to hear what you think. Hello, November. It’s nice to see you again.

LODGE LUXE posted by Keith comments (3)

Good evening! Am posting this one kinda late. We just closed up at the shop and I’m trying to play catch-up… The weather’s gotten so gloomy cold all of a sudden so today we’re celebrating everything warm and cozy with our new LODGE LUXE boutique. I actually think I am gonna buy that sweet fireplace and cut two holes in the sides for arms and wear it as a Halloween costume?

Treehouse Of Horror posted by fred flare comments (5)

Let’s start off by discussing how scary it is that we are now in the beginning of The Simpson’s 20th year of broadcast. That means I was 5 years old when this show first started. I really appreciated all of your kind suggestions for a Halloween costume, but it turns out that mediocrity overpowers ingenuity once again as none of my friends are dressing up this year. So I came up with a better plan. I am going to watch as many Simpsons Halloween specials as I can in a row. I’ll start up dressed as myself at 5 years old, and change clothes with every episode until I reach 2008′s episode. I found this leaked clip from the 19th Treehouse Of Horror, and it made me very happy. I hope you enjoy. And if you can, next Tuesday, please vote. Happy Halloween Everybody.

DREAMS DO COME TRUE! posted by Jen comments (11)

Okay, you guys! Yesterday was the MOST AMAZING day of my life! Here’s how my day went! I woke up at like 6am, got dress and was out the door by 7:30am. And if you live in NYC, you know… It was freakin’ cold!! Okay, so when I got in line at the Union Square Barnes and Noble it was like 8am and the line was pretty much half way around the block. So naturally I was pizzed, but totally ready to wait. I waited outside in the rain… The cold, cold rain until 9:45am when they let us in. It was crazy! Some girls had no umbrella and most of them had on flimsy clothes, open toe shoes and bare legs! I on the other hand was NOT dressed for a fashion show…

We also go this list of rules, which I’m sure you’ve heard about on all the gossip blogs. But I seriously thought the rules made sense! There were SO many girls there that if there were no rules, it would have been anarchy! And they were just guidelines, I mean the girls talked – but it’s not like we were gonna have a coffee and chat it up or anything!

happy hallo-tween posted by Chris comments (8)

Tween, my azz! You know how much I love the Lohans… I mean, LiLo, Dina and ALo are some of my fave popsters, but c’mon… Here’s Ali and Dina at the Animals Fair Magazine Halloween Party this week and I think Ali just looks way too inapprop, riiiight?!? I love the little kitty ears, but she’s 14… not 40! Tone her down Dina, less is more! Kids grow up too fast these days.
