December 31 posted by Keith comments (8)

Got up at five – only slept about three hours – and got ready to catch my 7am bus back upstate. Started the day feeling all fired up, jammed on the ecard on the bus and hardly noticed as it began to snow, then raced home to make sure I was on time for Dream Academy. When I arrived at the house around ten Chris was still at the gym. I thought, I’ll get this done and then we’ll meet at noon and it’ll be awesome. But then I just started getting so tired. Noon arrived and Chris wasn’t here and I couldn’t hold my smile up with toothpicks any longer. I’ll just work fifteen more minutes and then take a tiny rest.

Was asleep on the couch when CJ got home, dazed. Was so excited to see him but it came out all froggy sounding, like from the bottom of a well. It was nearly one and we debated how to plan the remainder of the day. Should we meet now? Should I finish the ecard first? The plan we came up with was kinda the greatest. Chris said, Let’s just call it quits for the day and finish everything tomorrow. Took a nap for a couple hours and woke with Lucy and Charlie by my side, feeling a little more myself.

Around four Chris made a cheese plate. We sat and and got caught up. I had a Diet Coke. Hadn’t had one in like six weeks.

OMG, this is the boringest diary entry EVER.

ADDING MY NAME TO THE LIST! posted by fred flare comments (6)

Oh, no!  What have I done? I must be crazy! I just agreed to write a 50,000 word novel with Keith and a group of flares. In one month’s time. That’s 1667 words a day; it’s 200 pages; it’s hard.

I’ve done this before;it is hard but it’s also fun. And, since I’m here in Michigan alone I enlisted a friend of mine, Alice, to do it with me. We start Friday.  Wish us luck.

Last Store Cute customers of the Decade! posted by fred flare comment (1)

Today has been pretty busy at STORE CUTE, lots of peeps searching for the perfect New Year’s Eve dress. These two cuties, Joanne and Marlena, stopped in right before closing. They’re longtime fredflare.com customers, but this was their first time in the store! As we were chatting, we realized that they were the last Store Cute customers of the decade! Crazy! So natch, we had to snap a pic for the blog! Can’t wait for 2010 and all the fun the coming decade is going to bring… see you all next year!

xoxo, Bilgin & Bee

Jewlie joins in! posted by fred flare comments (3)

At the last minute, Jewlie has submitted her form and joined the Writing Brigade! One of the less-traditional contracts (we love how creative everyone has gotten…and the writin’ hasn’t even begun!), she’ll be pounding the keys and and writing a novel with the rest of us. So glad to have her aboard!

I heart my parents! posted by fred flare comments (2)

Hey there, blog-readin’ folks!

The year is winding down (seriously, there are mere hours left in 2k9…how crazy is that?) and I, Bee, have commandeered Bilgin’s blog to post about when my parents were in town! Ok, ok, Jen totally beat me to the punch but she is so darn cute I guess I’ll have to forgive her. (This time). Anyway, my parents came to New York City for the holidays and stopped in at STORE CUTE to say Hey and also just check it out…they’ve never actually been in the store before! It super fun to see them, and they got some shopping done– my dad picked up a pair of the UrbanEars headphones! Mad stylish. Obvz we had to take a pic, so here’s the fam, FF-style!

Pretty sure it’s fairly obvious where I got my red hair from, haha. It was awesome seeing you guys, I hope you have a safe flight!

xoxo, Bee

DECEMBER 30 posted by Keith comments (7)

So tired. Crazy day. Woke up at 4, having a bad dream. In it Chris and I were fighting in public. We’re on some busy city street – maybe we’re in Paris? – and there’s a café on the corner and he sits at this big round table full of strangers, only one extra seat for him, and orders breakfast. I’m like, What about me? Hello? And he’s just giving me the silent treatment. Talk to the hand while I drink my café au lait.

I think I was just anxious about today’s practice with CHEER New York. The coach Felipe emailed a handful of the less experienced recruits last night like, Anyone up for an impromptu CHEER 101 practice? I was like YES, even though it meant taking the bus three hours to do so.

BEEN SHOT… BY A PAPER RIFLE posted by Keith comments (2)

I first fell crushingly for illustrator/designer Micah Player‘s work back when he used to be at Paul Frank. He would illustrate the CUTEST dreamiest t-shirt graphics and other follies that featured all my favorite things… Girls shaking tambourines, lovebirds daydreaming in Central Park, animals rocking out and a trompe l’oeil bookshelf filled with goofy wonderful classics to rediscover. His drawings make you remember childhood and they’re so smart yet so playful funny and, best of all, have heart. Just popped over to his site paperrifle.com & my eyes popped out with lurve. If you’re not already familiar, have a look!

SZOHRING TO THE TOP! posted by Jen comments (3)

It’s hard to believe this exotic-looking-super beauty is from Wisconsin, isn’t it? I’m from the mid-west and I defs don’t have friends like this! Jessica Szohr, a.k.a. Ed Westwick’s GF, a.k.a. Vanessa from Gossip Girl, graces the cover of Teen Vogue’s Feb 2010 issue. From the sound of the interview, her and Ed are still VERY MUCH in love! You’ll have to grab the mag to get all the juicy gossip about the double dates and the BFF’s on GG, but for now, we can just look at these amazing shots of Jessica. I LOVE everything about her style! JELL-CAPPED! I want it all!

DRAMA GETS A MAKEOVER posted by Jen comments (3)

So it looks like the cast of Jersey Shore has finally been MADE-OVER! This crazy group has been everywhere and I LOVE IT! I kinda watch this show religiously… I mean, is it bad, I didn’t have to look the names up for the pic? I feel like i know these peeps, it’s like the way better version of Real World!

Wouldn’t it be hilarious if we did a teevz on this show? It would be amaze! For example “J-woww and Dj Pauly D were dancing to house music while Snooki was doing back-flips on the dance floor. The Situation started making out with a blond and Sweetheart gave her number to a cop because Ronnie was pop-n-lockin’ it with a tube-top clad chick. J-woww’s BF found out from his friend Ron, that she was grinding on the dance floor with Dj Pauly D. Snooki got a piggy back ride from Ron, who she keeps calling “Russ”, she tries to take him home, but forgets where she lives so they sleep on the beach. The duck phone rings the next morning and Jwowws BF breaks up with her… The guys go work out and the girls go work in the t-shirt store. Tune in next week for more”

How awesome is that, you just read a full episode of The Jersey Shore… And now you’re hooked!

Permanent Resolutions posted by fred flare comments (2)

With New Years just around the corner, the resolution season is in full swing. In years past, I’ve been fairly ambitious. Learn a foreign language, learn to walk on my hands, learn that crazy Russian dance that requires the ab muscles I’ll never have… And every year, I wind up short. This year, I’m starting out slow and sticking with the attainable. With my desire for a new tattoo becoming more of a sickness, I’ve decided to make it my resolution. Save $50 from every paycheck until I have enough to git ‘er done. It may take a while since it’s gonna be a biggie! Until then I leave you with this. Also a biggie, it’s in two parts. Enjoy and get inspired!

Now check out part 2 here!
