HAPPY HALLOWEEN… LOVE, FF + AL posted by Keith comment (1)

Today I am SO super thrilled to share this witchy video created by my internet crush Marie of Agent Lover. Think of it as a Halloween card from your internet BFF’s. Scroll down after the vid for a quick bonus feature of behind-the-scenes commentary. Have SUPER fun tonight!!

Can you tell us your inspiration for the witchy-themed video?
I am constantly influenced by the BRUJA aesthetic, as well as ouija boards, haunted houses, all of that spooky stuff. It’s Halloween every day of the year for me! I had to pay homage to the glamour of the witch. The leopard Gigi coat you guys just got in? Totally Bell, Book and Candle steez. Also… Keep your eyes for a little cameo in the video from none other than Keith as a ghost floating around at :53 !!

Ha! Amazing. Let’s talk about Halloween! What are you going to be?
Halloween is def my favorite Holiday and it bums me out that people aren’t into it as much this year. The thing is you don’t have to spend a lot of money for a costume. You can get creative with what’s in your closet and adding crazy accessories. Last year I was a Lisa Frank sticker by blowing up one of them and wearing it around my neck like a sandwich board! The year before I was Bird Flu which was a dead nurse with bloody birds all over me and a nest filled with pills worn as a brooch. This year I’m going as Baberham Lincoln and wearing a top hat with the Aida coat! It’s just an excuse for me to wear a fake beard. If you make out with me tonight you are going to be in for a treat.

Any other favorite Halloween memories?
In the fifth grade, I dressed up as a unicorn so my dad made me a horn out of satin and styrofoam and I wore all white. I thought I looked AWESOME! My class held a contest and we all lined up and everyone had to vote. Sadly I didn’t win… A girl who was a HOOKER won instead! Can you believe that? She had on a velvet dress and a feather boa! IN THE FIFTH GRADE!!? A happier and more embarrassing memory was Halloween in the seventh grade when I dressed as Chilli from TLC.

What’s coming up for Agent Lover?
More crazy videos, a new Paperdoll, new items for the Bakery, cute pieces in my Gold Hearted Snakes vintage shop, and of course nonstop Adventures in Ladyswagger!

A COUPLE OF NYC CLASSICS posted by Bee comment

Store Cute‘s first trick-or-treater of the day was one of our regulars (and one of my faves), Coltrane! I’m not saying he’s the cutest rat I’ve ever seen, but… totally cute! And so of course we had to snap a pic with another New York iconpizza! Keep watching the blog for more snaps of our trick-or-treaters, and don’t forget to check out the flickr set! Happy Halloween!

Happy (Official) Halloween: THIS IS HEAVY posted by Jen comments (8)

Mo and I might be bias, but we’re voting on our costumes as the BEST! Mo is Marty McFly and I’m his soon-to-be-wife Jennifer Parker from Back to the Future. We really committed. I mean we have props for crying out lout! The two of us have been obsessed with Back to the Future our whole lives, so this was kind of a long overdue couple’s costume for us AND since this year was the 25th anniversary, we just had to do it. Okay. What do you think?

SARZ TAYSWIFT, STORE CUTE COMES FIRST posted by Bee comment

My week got off to a great start when I got a visit at Store Cute from Allegra and her mom, Cindee! They were in town all the way from Toronto, Canada because Allegra won a chance to not only go to Taylor Swift‘s album premiere, but fly to Los Angeles with T-Swizzle in a private jet! Um, amazing! I’m not saying I was super jealz, but… still am! Anyway, the duo made some time in their busy schedules to stop by the Store, and they were so super cute and friendly. It was so great to meet you guys… hope you had a blast on your adventure…send me pics! xoxo, Bee

Happy (Work-Day) Halloween: Miscellaneous Mayhem posted by fred flare comment

As you can tell we’ve been having a lot of fun here today. But not everyone likes to dress up like an iconic character. Sometimes you just want to play a little dress up, without having to worry about the details. Check out our newest shipping team member Caleb’s ingenious Skull Mask made from a cardboard box. And check out Julius and Diane’s bears. I tried to convince Julius to buy our White bear costume instead, so she could be a polar bear from LOST, but she just called me a nerd and gave me a dirty look. Oh well, can’t win ‘em all I guess. More posts to come all weekend. Stay tuned!

Happy (Work-Day) Halloween: The Life Aquatic posted by fred flare comment (1)

A couple posts back, I asked everyone to give me ideas for a Halloween costume, and I finally decided on one, my favorite Wes Anderson character, Steve Zissou from The Life Aquatic. Thanks for the idea Parker! It’s like you knew what I wanted to be before I did. I hope you enjoy my costume as much as I do. Happy Halloween!

LYDIA DEETZ: COSTUME IDEA OR STYLE ICON? BOTH! posted by fred flare comment

lydia

So if you’re as late minute about Halloween as I am, you probably spent all of last night trolling the internet for costume ideas. One of my favorites I saw definitely had to be Lydia Deetz from ‘Beetlejuice’, who is pretty much one of the best characters of any movie ever. Looking through photo after photo of her for a costume idea, I realized, Hey! Forget Halloween, I kind of want to dress like her every day…

So here you have it! If you’re still in the market for a last minute costume, the velvet pocket tee dress paired with the windsor floral tights just may be perfect. (And don’t forget your Diana F+ camera for attention to detail bonus points!) But if you’re feeling her everyday style as well, we all know black goes with everything. And hello boyfriend blazer! You may be part of Lydia’s school uniform, but you’re also pretty much my second skin. Now excuse me while I celebrate my “A” in math class with a couple dead dancing football players… “Shake, shake, shake señora…”

HAPPY (WORK-DAY) HALLOWEEN: Rosemary’s Baby posted by fred flare comment

Rosemary'sBaby

Every year my mom asks me “Ahi Danit, why you dress up like something so weird!?!?” But I can’t help it mom. I had a vision of dressing up like Mia Farrow in Rosemary’s Baby in a dream. The next day I found this amazing nightgown and necklace at a vintage shop. All I needed was a blonde wing, a la Vidal Sassoon, and belly full of scarfs. Happy Halloween everyone!

HAPPY (WORK-DAY) HALLOWEEN: THE KICK OFF! posted by Jen comment

If you’re anything like us… YOU LOVE HALLOWEEN! This year is no exception, in fact, it’s been my fave Halloween at FF to date (and that’s 5 Halloweens)! This is a kick-off post for all the spooktacular Halloweenie-ness that’s been going down today.

HALLOWEEN YUM YUM

We got to work today and within minutes, we were transformed to whatever character we had in mind. Amazing movies have taken over the fred flare offices and I’m pretty sure you’ll all love our costumes… BUT to have a true Happy Halloween, you have to have candy! That’s where I come in! I made little spooky-sweet treat bags for everyone that included Laffy Taffy, a KitKat, Nerds, Bottle Caps, SweetTarts AND a gooey eyeball! In addition to these wonka specials, Diane brought us cookies! We ate them before we could get a pic (whoops). It was kind of the best morning ever! Keep checking back to see what we’ve all dressed up as. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

TEEVZ: Project Runway – “Finale, Part 2” posted by fred flare comments (3)

**I WANT TO SEE YOU IN THAT DRESS KLUM ALERTZ** We’re a skip, a reunion, and three runway shows away from crowning the winner of Season 8. What better way to kick it off than with a short and civil sit down of all the rejected designers who have now seen the show and heard what you said about them behind their back, Gretchen?
