At long last… the day I’ve been waiting for! Elizabeth Olsen is making her Sundance debut in Martha Marcy May Marlene and she’s getting tons of buzz! The film is about a girl that escapes an abusive cult and tries to reconnect with her family while struggling with painful memories and debilitating paranoia. Kind of a heavy role for a newbie, dontcha think? I’ve heard amazing reviews so far, but can’t find a trailer anywhere! I’m so excited for the lil’ Olsen sister and I cannot wait to see this movie! Have you guys heard anything about it?

Wow. A Pink Dream wafting down the Christian Dior runway at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week on the new Daphne Groeneveld doll from Mattel. John Galliano paying homage to the Dior illustrator of the 40’s and 50’s René Gruau. So new New Look for Spring 2011 <3 U wouldn’t think that red lips would werk with a pink dress, but it totally totally does here. Sheer gloves are j’amaze. Thinking Porcelain Dolls. Wasp-waisted Débutante. Classic Barbie. Marilyn. Robert Best on Season 3. XOXO What was your favorite?

I love how cats adapt to their environments…especially when they’ve been living in a tree for about 7 months. This fellow feeds his cat meatloaf and salami, and I think that the You Bake ‘Em Cat Treats would go great with that! Maybe the tasty, fresh-baked treats would coax the cute lil’ feline down from its lofty perch… I bet some catnip meatballs would do the trick!

I love Ashton and Scout! This is a song they wrote and I love it. I can’t stop listening to it. Doesn’t it make you smile?

Lately I’ve been taking a lot of outfit inspiration from menswear, specifically Ivy League collegiate styles and old fashioned adventurers and explorers. In other words: Indiana Jones. Every kid wants to be Indy, right? So why should that aspiration end once you’re “grown up”? I say it doesn’t, and I get dressed every morning with that in mind.
This Polyvore set pretty much typifies my Indiana Jones-inspired January 2011 look… minus, of course, the whip, fedora, and wry sense of humor. For a top I’ve been totally digging on the sleeveless striped Greta sweater. The navy color and stripes give it a vaguely preppy vibe, but it’s also way comfortable and you can style it a million different ways. The wilderness shorts are totally on theme, but I also just gotta come straight out and say that I totally have a crush on them. So amaze. They even work for winter weather, just add a pair of tights and some snazzy socks and you’re set!
For me the really crowning glory of this look is the Disney Couture poison apple necklace. Ever since it first arrived, I’ve been totally entranced by its mysterious air and all the amazing details. (Seriously, check it out.) Plus, it could totally be a souvenir from some wild exploration adventure! Another great choice is the Aurora compass necklace, because you’re going to have to find your way out of that jungle somehow. And, finally, the simply perfect sling bag. What can I say? It’s simply perfect!
So whaddaya think? Does this look have you thinking “WTF?” or “Snakes! Why did it have to be snakes?!”
