I couldn’t resist running outside and snapping a photo of the sun shining right outside our warehouse door! The sky is blue and the air is cool. Plans for the rest of the day? Spending as MUCH time outdoors as possible! Dinner outside, a long post-dinner walk–ice cream?! So many warm weather things to be done!

All of us here at Fred Flare love Mad Men, so to celebrate the new season we all decided to Mad Men ourselves! No, not in real life (Madison has that on lock), but with the nifty Mad Men Yourself creator. Personally, I think we all look fantastic! What do you think?

The Black Victorian. I like it. A bold look. It’s a skateboarding couples dream shack out in San Francisco. On the inside an eclectic feel filled with an array of furnishings. Some killer pieces ranging from vintage to modern to salvage.
It’s pretty casual all over but I love how laid back the kitchen feels. Some very cool artworkand photography hung over the leather sofa nook. I also like the how the floor and ceiling seem to mirror themselves in warm honey tones.
A crazy bath designed to look like a pool. Fresh and complete with pool tiles, depth markers and copings. Paying homage to skating in those empty pools.
The red bath. It’s so loud yet so simplistic. Designed around the salvaged, black laboratory sink. The first time I’ve seen black toilet paper too….

Last week I spent a whirlwind week in London for my Spring Break! I try to get over to London about once every other year, as a large part of my mom’s family lives there. Seeing my grandfather, aunts, uncles, and endless number of cousins is always the best part of the trip–and it keeps me SUPER busy–but I like to spend at least one day of my journey venturing through London and exploring. I’ve seen pretty much all there is to see of London tourist attractions, so I try to take myself on the roads less traveled–at least by tourists. On this trip, I had a number of specific destinations planned, so my adventure was half exploration, half checking things off of my list.
My first stop was lunch at Nando’s, a place that is near and dear to my heart. I became familiar with Nando’s when I studied abroad in Australia, and ate there at least once a week. I guess it’s technically a fast food place, but their chicken is AMAZING! As far as I know, there’s only one in the U.S. (and it’s in Washington, D.C.), so I was eager to get my fix at one of their London locations!
After a delicious lunch, I spent some time roaming around Oxford Circus, going in and out of stores and taking in all of the awesome British fashion. I brought beautiful weather with me to ever-gloomy London, which I took advantage of by sitting in an outdoor cafe and sipping a latte in the afternoon. Soon enough, it was time for the most anticipated event of my day…the fanciest manicure of my life.
I found out about Nails, Inc. from a friend of mine who told me about their magnetic nail polish. A huge fan of nail art, I visited their website immediately and found out that they do all sorts of amazing things (including a Ruby Red Crystal Pedicure, which entails getting each of your toenails bedazzled with red Swarovski crystals!). I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted my nails to look like, but I knew I wanted it to be unique and different. After consulting with the nail technician (who had the most amazing nails I have ever seen), I decided to go with neon pink and a layer of gold crackle polish on top, so that the pink would shine through. Did I mention they rubbed my hands in caviar lotion?!
So after quite a full day on my own, I went back to the suburbs to meet my grandfather for dinner. Overall, I felt quite successful, and was so happy to have had such an exciting day to myself! What are your Spring Break plans? Are you staying local? Traveling abroad? Comment and let me know!

I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve always wanted to leave a message in a bottle on a beach and sit and wait for someone to find it, and when someone does I’ll stand right behind them because the message in the bottle is going to say “I’m standing right behind you.” Is that creepy? Probably. But nonetheless, now I can try it with this secret message in a bottle necklace.

Words cannot describe how excited I am for Titanic 3D! Are you guys gonna watch? Or would you rather watch it at home on your double VHS set?

This past weekend, I made what was possibly the most important purchase of my life; I bought an Amy Pond action figure. As a result, I’ve been carrying her around in my purse and taking pictures of her “doing things.” Honestly, I think it’s my new favorite hobby.
Amy Pond drinks Jamba Juice.
Amy Pond breaks the rules.
Amy Pond goes to see The Hunger Games.

Go on a picnic! Preferably in Central Park. I have never been on a picnic and this is not okay in my book… So, I have decided that this Spring, I WILL go on a picnic! But to make this happen, I need to bring the perfect picnicking tools: first a basket and a blanket. I would prefer the ones pictured above, for now any will do! Next, I need to bring some delicious food! The Reusable To-Go Lunch cup is PERFECT for a picnic! Of course, I will need to keep cool with some drinks, and the Volcom Fooled You Beach Cooler keeps things cold… and it’s stylish too. I absolutely cannot forget some sunglasses, because what’s a picnic without some sun and beautiful weather? Exactly.
I really can’t wait to finally make this happen! Once I do, you guys will be the first to know. Do you guys have any Spring Dreams? What would you bring on a picnic? I want to know!
