Yes, I’m a totes fashion nerd and was so excited at our awesome luck in scoring one of the Victor & Rolf for H&M wedding gowns on CJ’s b-day. I totally said to him, “Now we can no longer say we’ve never won anything!!” But the truth is, really, what am I gonna do with a wedding dress??

I’d love to save it in my fashion fantasy archive for generations to come - the same one that, in my dreams, would have that Prada lip print skirt from 2000 and that yellow Galliano from like 1994, you know, stuff like that - but for now I’m going to have to just settle for pictures of things.

So Sam took these snaps of me with Blanche all dressed up in the gown and, I kid you not, right when we started shooting Billy Idol’s “White Wedding” suddenly sparkled out the stereo!! Alas, our union is not meant to be. And if ya love somebody, set them free, right? I could probs sell the dress on EBAY but I think that’s LAME. I’d rather it go to someone who really wants or needs it. Do you know anybody?? It’s size 6 and it’s really lovely.

Oh. My. Gosh. This is like the most amazing thing EVER. I want that dress. The only question is if I have $50 I can spend this weekend…I just got a rather large FF order, and I was saving up for Paris…maybe I’ll buy more Fred stuff and get a raffle ticket instead of getting a tattoo…Heh heh heh…Oh MAN I just realised that I know a bride to be that this dress would be PERFECT for. Golly.

I’m getting married in 6 months but don’t have a dress. We’re trying to have a fun relaxed wedding–more of a giant party, instead of cumbersom traditions. The wedding itself will be in Annapolis, MD at our church (which doesn’t look ANYTHING like a regular church on the inside). There will be no bridesmaids or groomsmen because so many of our friends are involved and we’re not really into the whole having an entourage while getting married anyway. Our friend is marrying us though and I’m going to walk down the aisle to a local musician’s song. The reception will also be at the same place to keep things lowkey for everyone. Instead of cutting the cake we’re going to bust open a cake shaped pinanta and serve cupcakes. (I’m probably the only girl who’s never thought about her wedding growing up, and that was the only thing I could think of that I really wanted in terms of a reception). There will be our favorite music playing of course–indie bands intermixed with bossa nova and samba… but no forced dancing or dancefloor.. just cake and mingling for no more than an hour and a half… of course, our crazy friends will probably dance around anyway… because they’re, well, crazy. After that, we’ll leave and the rest of the evening is ours. THEN, the next day we’re going to have a huge breakfast with the groom’s large family. In the afternoon, everyone from both sides of the family and all of our friends are going to be invited to a park where we’re going to host a giant kick ball game. After a playful afternoon, we’re going to have a lowkey dinner with my small family. The goal is the emphasize what’s important to us: Our actual marriage and really spending time with the people we love. I don’t live in New York and don’t have $50 to spend on an “entry” (remember the whole “bride on a budget” thing? Yep, that’s me.) but was wondering if there’s any chance I could still be entered or considered for winning the dress? Hearts, Lacey

I’d love to enter as I am getting married in April but I don’t have the 50$ to spend on a raffle ticket. I’d much rather save the 50 towards the wedding since I know I will never win. However, the dress is rather lovely. And to the person who posted above me, I live in maryland too. But we are not getting married here. We are thinking about just going to vegas.
