Today is usually Project Runway recap day and since there are no more new episodes, I figure I’d treat you all to an exclusive interview with Kit Pistol (a.k.a. Christina Scarbo)! We were huge fans of Kit since the start of PR. She’s so FF! Here she tells us a bit more about Project Runway, her clothing line, trend forecasts and more! Her work is so awesome and spunky…and her accessories are the most adorable things ever. I think we all need a Kit Pistol hair bow in our hair about right now!

You were totally one of our fav designers! What was your favorite challenge on the show?
Thanks! My favorite challenge was the Hershey challenge. I was looking forward to the Project Runway typical bazaar material challenge. I thought my use of Kit Kats was quite clever, and I had been promising Marie a mohawk all season. So it worked out. I also liked the studded punk belt I made out of Rolos!

Out of your Project Runway peers, who were your favorites during Fashion Week?
I really liked Rami’s collection. Being from LA, I am familiar with his work and I think he really stamps all of his pieces with his signature. I also loved Christian’s. He is so ambitious and artistic in his designs and I would totally wear so many of his things.

Tell us about your own collection!
My collection brings the feel of the runway to the street for the men and women who wear it. I like to consider it “avant-garde street wear”. I make layering pieces to wear with the specialty pieces so that every garment can be worn everyday if desired. It definitely lends itself to those with an eclectic sensibility in dress, and those who appreciate quality. I really believe that everyday is a special occasion and fashion is an extension of oneself. So I endeavor to create garments that echo that philosophy.

We know you’re based out in L.A., but we are freezing here in NY and cannot wait ’til it’s warm out! What’s YOUR trend forecast for Spring/Summer?
Holy cow…ombre non-stop is what I have been seeing! Mucho popular in LA where it already feels like spring! Also accessories of layered bangles and also belts that wrap twice around the body are going to be key for spring. And bright colors! From neons to splashes of floral hues like lavender, fuschia and peony. Also, I can’t help but say that a splash of red will be a trend for spring. Red shoes, red belts, red bags…Ooh and I hope red lips!

What’s up and coming for Kit Pistol?
In-store events in Los Angeles. I just did an event in Olympia, WA and it was so rad. I’m working on having trunk shows/events in other cities around the country!
