There was a lot of purple going around, with Laura Bell Bundy and legendary Bernadette Peters in sleek floor length violet gowns, and Amanda Seyfried in a periwinkle Givenchy number (which, while sartorially controversial, I think is totally awesome and quirky.)
Beth Behrs and Jessica Chastain were also both working some really great looks that were elegant but fun thanks to sparkles and subtly risque cuts. I have such redhead envy for Jessica, who looks stunning with her nude dress and strawberry colored hair.
There were some cute couples at the Awards (Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, the greatest, ever), as well as some... uhh.. not so cute couples; I love you Hugh Jackman, and know you are multi-talented beyond reason, but I think there is a baby ostrich attached to your wife's collarbone.
Speaking of multi-talented, nothing beats Neil Patrick Harris as a host. Just look at that face! And that voice? Be still my heart...
In any case, some of the winners included "Clybourne Park" for best play and "Once" for best musical, as well as “The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess” for best Musical Revival. I'm so happy that "Clybourne Park" won best play, because I saw it last month and it was amazing!
What did you guys think of the show?
