I haven’t been around too much this week cuz I’ve had jury duty. CJ had it like two weeks ago and then it was my turn. What are the chances, riiiight? Anyway, I really can’t complain at all. It was very chill and not too much happened and I got a lot of work done narrowing down the finalists for this year’s NEXT BIG THING. It’s gonna be mayjuh so pls stay tuned.
Best of all, me and my iPod got to spend some serious quality time together. Riding some weird train I never usually take in the morning, we imagined ourselves in a lil’ scene from a musical. You know, the one where all the men in suits start dancing around my big solo number about how great it is to be alive? And then everybody on the train goes off their separate ways as though they had never interacted and it’s kinda sad but magical?
On Fri we struggled with our umbrella as we enjoyed Billie Holiday Remixed and Reimagined and strolled through Tribeca. Have you heard that? I think it’s great. I put a song from it on my recent boombox. Yes, it was super rainy gloomy but together we drifted in a dream, enjoying the cool mist, the green of the occasional tree and the jammering clammering city beats.
Thanks, iPod, for hanging out with me these past few days. You’re the best! As a special way to say thank you, I am gonna buy you a pair of these so we can spend even more time together. Forever yours, K
i love getting lost in my iPod like that.

comment by izze — May 17, 2008I love this post ’cause me ‘n’ my iPod are like this: *holds up crossed fingers*. Her name is Veronica, as in Betty and. But yeah, this post is great! I love to imagine you and your iPod cruisin’ New York. I’m glad that it was there to make jury duty suck less. Listening to your ‘Pod on the train is so fun. When I was in Boston I was totally dancing to Rihanna and JT…it’s a good thing I was with my parents, not my brother, ’cause I reckon I was kind of embarrassing! I can’t wait to see the NBT winners. Oh, and those headphones? I’ve had such a crush on them since the ecard. I’ve been waiting for them to hit the blog so that I can gush over them! I am def. going to order a pair. I’m thinking the colourblock ones because I am such a colour addict. Love it! xoxo, Bee
comment by Bee — May 18, 2008my iPod’s name is Captain Oats, as in captain Oats the Breyer horse from The OC. He is a black video, iPod Generation 5.1, and he is definately one of my best friends, which sounds truely bizarre but I am pretty bizarre so it’s okay. We hang out everyday and I love him for dealing with me, and not havong to be replaced by the Geniuses once in the 18 monthst that I’ve had him (knock on wood!) And as far as life being a musical, I think about that almost every day. I would be the spunky lead girl and it would probably be sort of Hairspray meets Legally Blonde meets HIgh School Musical, but I’m still working on a title =)
