Hey peeps, I have huge news… I just had my 4 month anniversary for quitting smoking! AND last night I graduated from my 6-week “Commit To Quit” group seminar. I even got a diploma!!! I’m so excited ’cause I’ve never been able to quit for this long. I even got through my first big break down (loosing our photographer, Natasha) totes smoke free! Congratz to our new photographer Chaunté – you guys are gonna love her! I have to thank Keith soooo much for all his wonderful support. Love you babe! And to JD, my awesome voice coach and all around shrink extraordinaire! I also wanna thank everyone at fredflare for putting up with me these past few months. I know I’ve been a bear (Grrrrr), but it’s only getting better. And a huge thanks to Adam, my group leader at “Commit” and to all the awesome peeps in my class who continue to inspire me everyday. Thanks everyone, love y’all! And don’t forget… There’s NO healthy way to smoke.
Congrats, Chris!! That’s an awesome accomplishment, and I’m so proud of you!! (So are your lungs!)

comment by Jen — May 23, 2008Yay, Chris! It’s so great having you in the non-smokers club!!! Great job!
comment by Jim — May 23, 2008That is a huge step, congrats! My dad quit when my mom was pregnant with me… it was the hardest thing he’s ever done! Now, after 21 years of not smoking, he can’t stand to be around cigarette smoke.
Also, thanks for no longer polluting non-smoker’s air! We love you for it! Now you should use your super cute site to convince others to quit.
comment by Kristen L — May 23, 2008Congrats! That’s awesome! I’m actually learning about tobacco and the consequences of smoking in my health class. If you can stay smoke-free for 2 years, your lungs will return to those of a healthy, non-smoker! Keep it up, and keep us blog readers updated on your progress!
comment by FireEngineRed — May 23, 2008Congratulations!! I know you can keep it up!
comment by Kathleen — May 23, 2008Congrats Chris! I smoked for years too, it is not an easy habit to break. If you have gone this far you are home free.
comment by Naughty Secretary Club — May 24, 2008Chris! I am so proud of you. Congrats, that’s a major accomplishment. Gosh! Good luck for continuing on so well, I’m sure you will. And I can’t wait to meet Chaunté! xoxo, Bee
comment by Bee — May 24, 2008Hey Chris, I’ve been checking your blog ever since you mentioned it to me, and you know how shy I am about posting, but I thought this accomplishment was worth my public comment. You know I used to smoke as well, and I know how hard it is to quit. Mad props to you! Your long lost college friend, Jeanne. (dang, is it tomorrow already in NYC?)
comment by Jeanne — May 24, 2008Congratulations Chris. This is a huge accomplishment. Quitting smoking is so hard, (I know!) but if you’ve made it this far, you can def be smoke-free from now on. I’m so proud of you!
comment by Brian — May 24, 2008Go Chris!!! Quitting smoking is not only the best thing you can do for yourself, it’s the best thing you can do for the people who love you too. It’s like saying you care enough about yourself to make sure you’re around for as long as you can be, as healthily as you can be. What an inspiration! xx
comment by emmablossom — May 24, 2008Yay Chris! I’m so happy for you- quitting smoking is SO great- one of the best changes you could make to your life! Keep on going, soon you’ll make it to 6 months!

Yay for you! That’s a wonderful accomplishment. My dad used to smoke and I got strep throat alot when he did. One day he just kinda quit while my mom was out of town. I have only had strep throat once since then when it was going around the school. He says it was hard, but worth it.Good job. Your lungs and the people around you will thank you.
