‘Tis a fredflare.com tradition here to showcase the Holiday windows of New York City and this year we’re thrilled to add a video component! I hope you like it. Does anyone know of a blog that’s all about window dressing? I would soooo check that out. Maybe I should start one. When I used to work at Bloomingdale’s I would make the rounds once a week on my lunch hour and dream dream dream in front of Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman.
Of course I’m a giant fan of Simon Doonan – I think he’s genius and Barneys is amazing – but I’m also oddly obsessed with Linda Fargo, who oversees Bergdorf’s store presentation and women’s fashion direction. Have followed her career for some time. I own her book Dreams Through the Glass. I even wrote a mystery novel a couple of years ago and the heroine – a sort of modern Nancy Drew – worked in the visual department of BG. Linda is her boss and plays a pivotal role in the caper… Um, is that weird??
Anyway, I love window displays and hope you enjoy this lil’ six minute adventure with us. This is our very first Holiday episode of The Fred Flare Show and we hope there will be many more to come. Happy holidays!
I love the Andy Warhol Window! I’m reading a biography about him now. He was a amzing artist and personality. Thanks for sharing. Happy Holidays and Crafty New Year!
