This weekend, my parents and I attempted to go apple picking in Vermont. Sadly, after driving up the hill to the orchard we’ve picked from for years, we were sadly informed that the farm was “all picked out.” Luckily, a local farm stand had plenty of options. Almost too many. At least I had this apple variety flow chart to help me out. From eating to carving, the world’s foremost apple expert (and author of an apple encyclopedia, no less) has got me covered. You can see the full chart here, but here’s my favorite corner featuring a horse, Joe Biden, and Drappula.

I love Apple Season!! Also, that chart is so great. I could never pick a fave type of apple… I went through a phase of loving McIntosh as a kid because I was a computer nerd, heh. On the part of the chart that you posted, though, I’m especially interested in Thomas Jefferson’s fave, “Northern Spy,” and “Catshead.” Thanks for sharing! xoxo, Bee
