It’s true… MTV’s hawtest show, TRL will be calling it quits after ten years on the air. Gosh, I remember when Keith and I were still pretty new to NYC back in ’99, we’d go past 1515 Broadway and there’d just be like swarms of kids piled in the street (were any of them you?) to see these new acts like Britney Spears and The Backstreet Boys. It was beyond exciting. Well, those days will soon be over. TRL will shutter with a two-hour special on a Saturday sometime in November. TRL, you’ve been the best and we’ll forever have Carson Daly in our hearts. Thanks for the memories!

comment by Keith — September 17, 2008I was ALWAYS one of those kids!!! As a self-professed whore for MTV, I’ve been watching MTV since I was 8 and when TRL began, I fell in love. I heard about this over the weekend, I guess the last episode will be on a Saturday. I just wish they’d still have a NY based show, since FnMTV is all the way in LA. But I guess TRL has been dead for a while.

comment by Pam — September 17, 2008good riddens, not to be harsh but I used to like TRL but is could of been a lot better. For instance showing the whole music videos. Maybe MTV will change for the better, get rid of the dumb reality shows and show music videos all day.
I wanted to BE Carson when I was in elementary school. Not even kidding. If you look in my journal under career aspirations “Host of TRL” is most definitely in there. That’s what got me interested in the entertainment industry in the first place! I officially feel blessed to have been able to be on 3 episodes of TRL.

comment by ang — September 17, 2008I recall TRL when it was just Carson sitting in a room introducing videos. No screaming teenagers..or random guest. I miss the “old” MTV. Maybe that dates me (I’m now 24) but whatever.
