My top movie list this year is not nearly as extensive as I hoped it would be. With Dark Knight up top, followed by Wall-E, with Vicky Christina Barcelona a close third, that leaves me able to un-apologetically recommend only four movies this year so far. Number 4 is secure with the hilarious Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Now, I’ll admit I got dumped pretty recently, and I know that makes me slightly bias considering the subject matter, but I’ll have you know that I saw this extremely accurate portrayal of devastating heartbreak before that tragic afternoon this summer… Ahem, So you can rest assured that my positive review holds true. I got my hands on a copy of the DVD and the extras are great. The Line-O-Rama, and Outtakes are hilarious, and the deleted scenes are so good, specifically one that belongs towards the end of the movie between Sarah and Peter. But my absolute favorite part of this DVD is that it’s the first time that Apatow productions have put out their DVD with the option of Unrated and Rated on the same disc. Knocked Up, Superbad and 40 Year Old Virgin are three of my favorite comedies of the last few years, and I thought the Uncut Versions they released were all too long, with awkward pacing. I’m glad they are giving us the option this time. So check it out, it drops on Tuesday the 30th. Here’s a great extra from the DVD featuring the scene stealing Russel Brand as Aldous Snow.
