As you all know, Natasha Richardson was in a skiing accident earlier this week in Canada on a beginners slope. An unexpected accident, which was earlier refered to as a “bump on the head” was actually a fatal blow to the head, leaving her brain damaged. This is such an unfortunate accident and our thought and prayers are with the family. Natasha passed away last night and this was the statement released by her husband, Liam Neeson:

“Liam Neeson, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”

If you’re unclear as to how you know this actress, you probably remember her as the mother in the Lindsay Lohan version if “The Parent Trap”. LiLo had this to say of her movie mom’s death:

“She was a wonderful woman and actress and treated me like I was her own. I didn’t see much of her over the years but I will miss her. My heart goes out to her family. This is a tragic loss.”
