Was walking on the High Line one evening recently and there was this total jazz band serenading strollers from a fire escape! It was so cool. I overheard somebody say they’d read about this in the Times so of course I raced home and looked it up. Apparently this woman Patty Heffley who’s lived in an apartment yards away from the High Line for over 30 years, has taken advantage of her newfound audience to present an impromptu cabaret. I love this! So, next time you’re on the High Line look and see if the apartment at 20th street has the patio lanterns lit. If so, you’ll know something is going to happen come dark. More info here and here!
this sounds amazing! To be honest I probably do the same thing if i lived so close to the High Line, regardless if I can sing or not
