Hey Upper East Siders! Sorry it took this gossip girl so long to write up a recap- I’ve totes been trying to wrap my mind around that insane 3rd season finale and was going through a bit of my own Upper East Side drama [moving to a new apartment, finals and the start of summer school]!. Just when I was starting to get bored with Gossip Girl, BAM! The last 5 minutes totally blew my mind. Drama, drama drama! So now that we’ve all had a few days to come to turns with a couple of CRAZY ideas; aka Georgina is pregnant, Chuck slept with Jenny and then got the ultimate karma payback- a broken heart and a bullet, let’s break it all down so we can relish in this last episode’s insanity.

Last week we left off with a little Jenny/Nate sleepover. I thought for sure this would lead to a little something-something for J and Nate, but alas all that happened was a snore-fest from Nate and a late night viewing of New Moon for Lil J. However, J has gotten QUITE coniving as of late and when she came home to find Dan and Serena asleep together [totes called that one] she snapped a pic and and within minutes we all got a little Gossip Girl blast, Nate included. Even though nothing serious happened between Dan and Serena and they both declared it was a total mistake, I for sure got different vibes from the two of them. That awkward silence was a dead giveaway- they obvi want each other. Which is fine by me! I like Dan and Serena, he makes her a LITTLE more tolerable. So S went to Nate to do a little damage control, but of course they had yet another argument about Serena’s daddy issues and then when Nate walked into a private convo between Dan and Serena about their kiss, well that was the final straw. He sent the picture on to Vanessa in Haiti and that was the end of…pretty much both relationships. When V found out, she broke off all contact with Dan. Thank goodness! Serena told Nate they needed a break because apparently being apart was the only way they had a chance of being together in the future. Oh S, such silly logic. Nate wasn’t having it and said he wasn’t gonna wait around. Totes don’t blame him and hopefully he finds a new girl next season.

Back in Blair world, Dorota was desperately trying to convince Blair to meet up with Chuck at the Empire State Building. Blair kept saying she wasn’t going, but it was so obvious she wanted to go. She raised a little hell with Jenny for tipping off GG and that was probably my favorite part of the episode. Little J finally got what was coming- the truth- that she’s a total wannabe, she doesn’t fit in and nobody loves her, maybe not even Rufus. Blair then runs into Dan and they have a little heart to heart in which she finally realized that she HAD to go meet Chuck [DUH!] before it was too late. Only…then Dorota’s water broke! At the hospital, Dorota gives Blair her blessing to go meet Chuck and then has her baby girl, named Anastasia. Queen B totes missed the birth…and Chuck! When she got to the top, all that was left was a bouquet of flowers Chuck had thrown out.

Meanwhile, Jenny was being exiled by her entire family to go live with her mom. In the heat of the moment even sweet Eric said J was out of control. But a banishment was about to be the least of Jenny’s troubles. She went to go see Nate, but instead found a depressed and drunken Chuck. And then they slept together. Wait…WHAT??!?!?!?! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!?!?! As if we all didn’t hate Jenny enough as it was, she went and lost her virginity to Chuck Bass. Wow J. Awesome decision. Of course then Blair shows up to to find Chuck and declare her love for him and while this should have been such an amazing moment, it was ruined with the knowledge that Chuck had JUST betrayed her…with JENNY! In a weird twist of character, Jenny snuck out and didn’t ruin the Chuck/Blair reunion. But she did have a mental breakdown and confess to Eric and Dan that she just gave her virginity to Chuck. Sure, I felt bad that Jenny felt bad about losing her v-card. I totes get that she wanted her first time to be special. But I could not symphathize with her one bit because homegirl knew exactly what she was doing and Chuck did NOT force her to do anything whatsoever.

Of course Dan was hella pizzed at Chuck and JUST as he was about to propose to Blair [as in THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN ENGAGED after he JUST slept with Jenny], Dan totes punched him in the fact and forced Chuck to come clean to Blair. By this time, everyone was all standing around in the lobby and things were getting PRETTY awkward and pretty obvious. Blair, being the clever girl she is, pieced everything together and totes blew up. My heart was seriously breaking for this girl. Just when we all thought things were finally going to pull through, this happens! She screamed at Jenny to get out of Manhattan and never come back- some advice I hope she follows because I’m beyond over Little J. However, Dan put all the blame on Chuck which really wasn’t fair. It takes two people to tango and in this case, both parties were down for a little dirty dancing. Then Blair turned to Chuck and said, “Don’t say her name. Or anything else to me, ever again. This night never happened.” And that was the end of that.

Flashforward to a week later and all our friends are gearing up for summer. Nate, who finally reconciled with Dan [love their bromance btwz] enjoyed Chuck’s connections and found himself getting over Serena by hooking up with two random girls. Okay…? So strange to me, but we’ll go with it! Jenny had a big goodbye hug with her family who finally forgave her for being a crazy, angsty teen and then it was off to Hudson to finish off her senior year [sidenote: I totally ran into this scene when it was being filmed on my way to school about 5 or 6 weeks ago]. Blair and Serena are off to Paris and just as Dan was getting ready to book a ticket and follow her out there [he totes loves her] BAM! We’re hit with the first of 2 crazy cliffhangers. Georgina, who has been stumbling around this entire episode claiming she needs saving from some crazy Russians, tells Dan she’s having his baby. And MAN did she look preggerz! I’d bet that was au revoir to Dan’s Paris plans and bonjour to a baby?! And then, just when you were trying to adjust to this news- Chuck gets shot in the chest, laying in a pool of his own blood as two random dudes run off with his engagement ring for Blair. Well Gossip Girl, you finally got me- because I did not see either of those things coming AT ALL.

I gotta say, even though this episode was full of shockers and dramaz, I was kinda disappointed. I felt like that last 5 minutes was a desperate attempt to keep viewers interested in next season. This past half a year or so, I’ve totes been losing interest and respect for Gossip Girl and I don’t think this overly dramatic ending was exactly…quality. I know some people really loved the cliff-hanger ending and will remain faithful viewers, but I miss the wit and awesome writing that I used to associate with Josh Schwartz. But let me know your thoughts! Do you forgive Chuck for his actions? What about Jenny, is there a road to redemption for her? Will Chuck and Blair ever get over this? Will Chuck even survive this?! Leave me some comments and tell me what you think season 4 is gonna bring us!

Until next season, you know you love me. XOXO.
