Chris and I are on the road heading to Michigan for my mom’s wedding! Will try and share some photos next week but wanted to wish you all a superfun holiday weekend. Hope you get yur BBQ on! If you’re in need of some fun tunes while ya grill try out my newest OMG BBQ playlist on the boombox. CJ and I are so obsessed with Usher’s OMG so I made this mix full of songs with titles that have only 3 letters. Check it out!
And now it’s your turn to WIN! Leave a comment here and tell us one of YOUR fave 3-letter jams. (Pls be sure and list the artist as well! Thx.) Once we started thinking of songs with only 3 letters the list grew and grew so I’m excited to hear what’s on your mind! I’m gonna pick 3 random winners on Tuesday VERY soon (SO many amazing entries!) and you’ll all win a $100 gift certificate. Good luck and have a fun Memorial Day. Hellooooo Summer!

When my older sister was still living at home we would blast P.Y.T. while baking cookies, sing into our spatulas, and rock the air guitar! Even now when the song comes on my itunes during a shuffle sesh I turn the volume up.

comment by Alexa — May 28, 2010Y.F.W. by The Big Spank
They are a local band from Albuquerque, NM. Ska/Punk/Reggae/Awesome. Because it’s vulgar, I’m not gonna tell you what “Y.F.W.” stands for but I will say it’s an awesome breakup song. So guess away OR you can hear the song here:

Michael Jackson – PYT!
Bad by MJ!
comment by Dani — May 28, 2010ABC- JACKSON 5
PYT- MICHAEL JACKSON
LUV- JANET JACKSON
I LOVE the Jacksons! I still get teary eyed about MJ’s death, but I will forever rep for Gary, Indiana! ABC just makes you feel good and want to dance. You can watch 3 generations in my family dance to this song and all love it the same way.
PYT is amazing! This is another feel-good song. It reminds me of my boyfriend and me. He always goes out of his way just to show me he loves me. I truly know I’m his PYT. MJ’s music provokes this undescribable feeling of joy no matter what’s going on in your life.
LUV by Janet Jackson…gosh! I love this song! I remember the first time I heard it. I was at my family reunion in Memphis. I knew it was her b/c her voice is distinct. I memorized the chorus and googled it when I got home. I love how I can still play this song and get the same lovey dovey feeling I got when I first heard it.
R.I.P Michael, you truly were one in a billion.

comment by Alexa — May 28, 2010This contest was interesting to think about; It made me realize that most songs with only three letters are really acronyms that stand for a longer phrase! So, in limiting myself to this one song, I wanted to choose one three-letter word that had true, blatant meaning.

comment by lauren — May 31, 2010I’m a big fan of DNS by UV Protection. And Gum by Cornelius. And Elf by Gabby La La! I like silly musics. Also, I realized how few songs in my iTunes had 3 letters in their names! Many more had 4 and only four had less (B by Pinback, Hi by Psapp, and two songs called Go). Bizarre! My silly math brain is itching to make me a graph.
