Pretty sure my heart stopped when I got the e-mail from Keith last December saying that I had won the Holiday Mystery trip to NYC. I was super excited to meet the Fred Flare crew and go on an incredible adventure in the city!
My flight from Nova Scotia was short but after a long cab ride we finally made it to the FF warehouse early in the morning. I must admit I was nervous to meet everyone but after stuffing my face with pink sprinkle doughnuts and chatting it up I felt like I had known them forever! Everyone was so nice.
I felt like a bit of a superstar when I had my photoshoot with Tim and when we went for a walk in the park to take more pictures my boyfriend Adam and I felt a little bit like we were being hunted by paparazzi, lol.

After saying goodbye to the warehouse crew we went to Store Cute where I had so much fun looking at everything and picking out a bunch of great things. I think my favorite purchase is a tie between my giant cupcake cake mold and the boho multicolor tote. I also got some delicious doughnuts at Peter Pan Bakery! I think I got addicted to doughnuts in NYC they were so good.
We checked into the Ace Hotel later that day, definitely the coolest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Loved the artwork in my room and the cute note from Keith and Chris! We were pretty tired from our full day of excitement so we took a little walk to see the sights and then went back to the hotel to crash.

The second day we went to the Museum of Natural History and ended up spending about six hours there. My boyfriend and I are huge museum geeks and even bigger dinosaur geeks so we pretty much spent the entire day in awe. Later we took a stroll around Central Park and walked home where we rested up before heading to Times Square for supper.
The next day we toured around the city. We went to some awesome stores and took tons of pictures. In the evening we went to Madame Tussauds, Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum and the GIANT Dave and Busters where I won the jackpot of 1800 tickets on one of the games and got to buy tons of candy and funny junky toys, haha I love acting like a little kid sometimes.!

The next day we hit up the rest of our to-do list and saw the Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, China Town, Little Italy (stopped for some AMAZING pizza at Vincent’s) Washington Square Park, and did some shopping near Union Square. We thought we would end our final night by heading to the Empire State Building for sunset and it was absolutely breathtaking!

On our last day we couldn’t leave without saying goodbye to everyone so we took a cab back to Brooklyn and did some last-minute shopping at Store Cute, of course! Our trip to NYC was so much fun. Next time we visit maybe we will try to brave the subways instead of walking everywhere haha but I loved meeting everyone at Fred Flare. You are all so great and we will never forget this amazing trip! Stay cute!
