One of my favorite parts about going back-to-school was always picking out a new lunchbox, and then coming up with all sorts of delicious meals and snacks to fill it with throughout the school year. I was sitting here in Store Cute feeling nostalgic for that period in my life (and hungry…it’s lunch time, yo!) and I realized that, duh, even though I may not go sit in a classroom five days a week anymore, I can still totally make awesome lunches! So here are my picks for a totally delicious (and questionably nutritious) lunch!
It all starts with the Hello Kitty I heart candy lunchbox! Gotta cart your comestibles in style! Next up is the good ole standard, a peanut butter & jelly sandwich. It wouldn’t be a box lunch without it…and they taste awesome, so that’s always a bonus. For double the sandwich fun, I tossed in a Toddland burger. I never really took hamburgers to school, but I totally wish that I had! Last but not least, a bag of potato chips, to be eaten with the rest or as a snack before or after. You’ll have to choose your own adventure when it comes to dessert… I couldn’t come to a decision– the cupcakes or cake conundrum had me stumped!
What about you? What makes you smile when you open up your lunchbox? Any childhood faves you miss, or new treats you’d like to try? Lemme know! And, uh, if anyone wants to make a delicious delivery to 131 Meserole Avenue, I’ll be here to graciously receive it.
I was not one of the cool kids who got to bring their lunch to school, but their food always looked SO good to me. Sandwiches, Rice Krispie treats, pudding cups. Geeze. Now I do what I want, and it involves copious amounts of turkey, wheat bread, and Newman’s Own Light Honey Mustard. Boo. Yeah.
