Back in 1999 when fredflare.com was still being run out of our tiny Manhattan apartment, we called up a local temp agency for some added help and they sent us Lillian. Back then, we’d all sit in the living room and talk about “Felicity” as we packaged sets of stationery and listened to Christina Aguilera. Needless to say, times have changed. Lillian is still with us, though, after all these years, and we couldn’t be happier. We’ve practically grown up together!

Please let our customers know what you do here at fredflare.com
I am the Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Manager. I oversee the packing and shipping of all the orders and also help manage inventory as it comes in and leaves our warehouse.

How does it feel to have been named Employee of the Year in fred’s Top 50 of 2004?
Wow, that was a total suprise to me! I first noticed it when I got our weekly blast at work. Thanks! I am proud to be doing my best to grow with this wonderful and fun company.

How has your life changed since you moved to NYC from Malta in 1999?
Well, I used to live in NYC but my parents decided to move back home to Malta, which is off the coast of Sicily, so I went with them, but my heart was always here. I moved back after seven years in Europe to try to make a difference in my life and it was the best thing I ever did! I found a great job and my perfect soul mate.

Speaking of which, we hear you have very special plans to return home with said soul mate this summer. Can you tell us more?
Sure! I'm returning home because I am getting married. It’s going to be a big wedding! My parents are even getting me a horse carriage to take me to the church. It’s going to be such a romantic day and I can’t wait.

What do you do for fun off-hours?
My fiancé and I love to stay home and watch a DVD in the dark with lit candles. Or we go out to an Irish pub, since he’s Irish.

Who were some of your favorite bands growing up?
NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK!! I was completely crazy after them all the time. When they used to come to NYC, I would wait outside of their hotel just to catch a glimpse of them. I also loved Debbie Gibson and Tiffany!

Can you tell us a little bit about fredflare.com's iPod schedule? What is your time slot? What is your DJ name? How would you describe your set?
We are all iPod fanatics here so we set up a schedule and take turns playing jams. My time slot is Monday afternoons so I can hustle with high energy music on one of our busiest shipping days. My
DJ name is Miss Malta MC! I’m mostly into the 70's, 80's and 90's, stuff like Supertramp, Boney M, Aerosmith and U2.

Anything special you'd like to say to our customers?
You guys are great! Thank you SO much for supporting us as we grow. We’re trying to make this
site the very best it can be and hope to continually impress you, not just with the quality of the merchandise but with our service. How’s my department doing? Are you pleased with the way
your orders are packed and shipped? I’d LOVE to hear from you. Please email me at
info@fredflare.com if you have any feedback. Thanks so much!
